“Essential for a restful night”

Posie Tester

Women have TWO rhythms foundational to our sleep.

1. The circadian rhythm (24 hrs)

Every organ and cell has a daily clock that dictates when to energize and when to recharge.

2. The menstrual cycle (~30 days)

Monthly hormone shifts significantly change sleep, stress resilience, and nutrient needs week by week.

Stress, erratic schedules, missed sunlight, and other modern habits confuse these rhythms → sleep breaks down, hormones misfire, energy metabolism stalls.

The Posie Sleep System is a simple routine to support these rhythms and rebuild sleep from the root.

Sleep Primer is the first sleep supplement to adapt to your menstrual cycle.

Your hormones rewrite your sleep needs week to week. So Sleep Primer shifts with them — one formula for your follicular phase, another for your luteal phase.

Dream Shades help protect your most important bedtime sleep signal.

Melatonin is your body’s nighttime signal.

Melatonin is the hormone that tells your body it’s time to sleep. As evening approaches, your brain naturally begins producing melatonin, helping coordinate your internal clock and many of the restorative processes that happen while you sleep.

Blue light suppresses that signal.

The blue light that helps wake you up in the morning can work against you at night. Light from phones, tablets, TVs, and even modern LED light bulbs can suppress melatonin, making it harder for your body to recognize that it’s time for sleep. This relationship has been studied for more than 20 years and is one of the most well-established findings in circadian science.

Blocking blue light helps preserve it, but only if you block the right wavelengths.

If blue light suppresses melatonin, filtering those wavelengths before they reach your eyes can help preserve your body’s natural evening response. But not all blue light blocking glasses are designed the same way. Studies generally find the greatest effects with lenses that filter the specific wavelengths most closely linked to melatonin suppression, while lightly tinted lenses tend to have much smaller effects.

Dream Shades lenses are spectrally engineered to target those biologically active wavelengths while preserving brightness and natural color vision. That means you can watch TV, read, or unwind in the evening with less color distortion while still reducing the blue light most closely linked to melatonin suppression.

This may matter even more for younger women.

New research suggests that younger women may be especially sensitive to the effects of evening blue light. Several studies have found greater melatonin suppression and stronger circadian responses in women during their reproductive years, suggesting that reducing blue light exposure in the evening could be particularly beneficial for this group.

Week 1 · Follicular

Wind-down eases

Falling asleep feels less effortful, and evenings feel smoother even on stressful days.

The science

Saffron supports the serotonin-to-melatonin transition; a calming active lowers evening tension without sedation — so your clock can hear its cues again.

Week 2 · Follicular

Sleep gate strengthens

You drift into sleep instead of wrestling it, and midnight wakeups feel lighter.

The science

Higher estrogen plus saffron strengthen the serotonin-to-melatonin transition, so your natural “sleep gate” becomes more reliable.

Week 3 · Luteal

Luteal support activates

Luteal sleep holds up better than usual, and 3 a.m. wakeups are shorter and less charged.

The science

Ashwagandha smooths cortisol as progesterone rises; magnesium supports GABA; a glucose-steadying botanical blunts spikes that trigger night waking.

Week 4 · Luteal

Late luteal softens

PMS doesn't hijack your sleep or mood, and you wake more functional and less depleted.

The science

Saffron hits its sleep-quality window; ashwagandha helps prevent cortisol overshoots; magnesium supports cleaner melatonin signaling in your hardest hormonal week.

Month 2

Systems align

Evenings, nights and mornings follow one smooth pattern that syncs with your energy, mood and appetite.

The science

With two full cycles of consistent cues, your circadian and menstrual rhythms start reinforcing each other instead of competing.

Month 3

Momentum builds

Bedtime and wake-time feel almost automatic, with a natural arc of energy across your day.

The science

Repeated morning light and nightly wind-down anchor your body clock, so healthy timing becomes the path of least resistance.

Month 4+

Amplitude strengthens

Higher highs and deeper lows give your day structure, and stress and screens stop knocking you out of rhythm.

The science

A stronger circadian amplitude — a clear day/night contrast — is linked to more resilient sleep, mood, and metabolic health over time.

And that's just one of many things that make our sleep system unique.

FAQs

Why take a sleep supplement in the morning?

Because sleep is built during the day. Sleep Primer works with your circadian rhythm from the start, so your body is ready to rest by night.

Will it make me groggy?

No sedatives, no melatonin — so no morning fog.

How is this different from melatonin?

Melatonin forces a signal; Posie helps your body make its own, in rhythm.

Are blue-light glasses actually legit — and why are yours special?

Evening light really does delay the melatonin your body needs to fall asleep, which is why blocking it helps. Most blue blockers only cut screen light. Dream Shades use proprietary lens tech to block screen and ambient light, so your whole evening environment stops signaling "daytime."

Do I have to use the app?

No — it makes things effortless, but the routine works without it.

Is the app another subscription?

It's included with your Sleep System.

How do I cancel?

Anytime, self-serve, no hassle.

What if I don’t get a period?

Sleep Primer still works for you. Many women don’t get a regular period, most commonly because of a hormonal IUD. Sleep Primer does not alter your hormones. And even without a period, your body often still follows a monthly rhythm that shows up in your sleep. Many women notice a part of the month when sleep feels lighter or more restless, or anxiety creeps in a bit more.

If that sounds familiar, use it to time your switch. Those harder days usually fall late in the luteal phase, so start the Follicular Formula a few days after they pass. If it’s hard to pinpoint, no worries. Start with the Follicular Formula, switch to the Luteal Formula after 14 days, and see how you feel. Sleep Primer is designed to help either way.

What if I have an irregular cycle?

That’s common, and it’s one reason we built the Posie app. Sleep Primer does not alter your hormones or try to regulate your cycle. It supports your sleep through whatever phase you’re in. Just log your period when it starts, and the app adjusts your routine to match, so your guidance follows what your body is actually doing, not a 28-day calendar.

Is this safe for women on birth control?

Sleep Primer does not alter your hormones, and its ingredients are not known to interact with hormonal birth control. If you use a non-hormonal method like a copper IUD, your natural cycle continues, so you can follow Sleep Primer’s standard routine. If you’re managing a health condition or take prescription medication, we recommend checking with your doctor before you start.

Is this safe for pregnant women?

We don’t recommend Sleep Primer if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding. Most botanical ingredients haven’t been studied enough in pregnancy to confirm they’re safe, so they’re generally not recommended during this time. Talk with your healthcare provider about sleep support that’s right for this stage. Dream Shades, our blue-light blocking glasses, are fine to use anytime.
